You are the gum on my shoe

You get on my nerves, but I can't seem to be rid of you. You haven't really done anything, intentionally, to make me feel this way about you. It's just that after liking you on and off for about 2 1/2 years, and being rejected many times, I'm really wishing I could get over you.

I was so sure that I was over you. And what do ya know? Only a couple of weeks later, and I realize I still do have feelings for you. Why can't get over you? This is only causing me pain.
